CARY – The Internet of Things Community will bring the IoT Slam Live Conference to Cary later this week, with SAS as the host organization for the in-person and virtual event.
It will be the 19th conference led by the organization, which is a community of business leaders and Internet of Things practitioners more than 30,000 members strong, according to organizers.
“IoT Slam provides global fortune 1,000 company end-users, with world-class keynotes, hundreds of hours of technical sessions, leading edge tutorials, interactive panel discussions, and thought provoking round-tables,” a letter signed by David Hill, the executive director of the IoT Community on the organizer’s website reads.
Internet of Things global event coming to Cary with backing from SAS
The event, held at SAS headquarters in Cary on June 22 and June 23, is the first in-person event since 2019, according to a statement that Hill made earlier this year, reported by WRAL TechWire. And organizers are looking forward to being in-person, again.
“Our attendees will see many real-world use cases and keen insights from industry leaders, which will inspire ways to improve their business and societal outcomes,” said Dr. Tom Bradicich, chairman of the IoT Community Advisory Board, in a statement earlier this year.
And there’s more, too.
Here’s what organizers say to expect, as noted in a statement announcing the speaker lineup last month: “crucial learnings and inspirational ideas around future trends and challenges across industrial, enterprise and public sector / government IoT, exploring the opportunities 5G, Edge, AI, enable in smart buildings, cities, and the connected home / office, healthcare and life sciences, autonomous vehicles and omni-channel retail.”
The agenda for IoT Slam includes speakers from SAS, Red Hat, Microsoft, the Town of Cary, Cisco, Link Labs, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Corning, Ford Motor Company, Georgia Pacific, and more.
“We are thrilled to unveil another exclusive and world class line-up of IoT thought leaders and practitioners at the IoT Slam Live 2022 conference,” said Hill in a statement in May. “I invite members, partners, and anyone who wants to engage, to join us at this fascinating hybrid format event on June 22 -23, to interact in the discussion and gain a fresh perspective on real-world industry best practices.”
